Project Light

Inspired by the words of Francis of Assisi, “Lord make me an instrument of your Peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon, where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy,”

Fear . . .Anger . . . Sadness . . . The Edison neighborhood in general and specifically the area around Bethany Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan has encountered challenges - physically, emotionally, economically, and spiritually – that has left the people suffering and the neighborhood blighted.  Those of us with the will and capacity to do so must address these issues.  Physically transforming properties; emotionally providing the stability of home ownership; economically reinvesting in lives and community; and spiritually standing as a beacon on a street, welcoming all, committing to. . . . Peace . . . Hope . . . Light.

These pictures show the members of Bethany and their friends working on projects to serve the neighborhood.
