Compassion/Mercy Ministries

Bethany volunteers work at the monthly food distribution.Loaves And Fishes Food Pantry
Bethany sponsors a Loves And Fishes Food Pantry at the Friendship House. This ministry provides food assistance to those in need.

In addition to the food pantry, once each month on the fourth Wednesday, Bethany, in cooperation with the Salvation Army and Loves and Fishes, sponsors a food distribution to all in need  at the Salvation Army facility on South Burdick Street.

Restore
Bethany sponsors the Restore ministry, a ministry to assist people who are incarcerated or are coming out of incarceration. Restore seeks to provide Christian support and role models as they re-enter society. Contact
Sebastion deCastro for more information.

Backpack Buddies
Backpack Buddies is a ministry of Bethany to the students at Washington Writer's Academy, a part of the Kalamazoo Public Schools. Over 90% of the students at Washington receive free or reduced priced breakfast and lunch. This program helps to meet the nutritional needs of the children at school, but there is no lunch program on weekends. The Backpack Buddies program provides easy to prepare meals and nutritious snacks for the weekend to 50 children selected by the staff as the most needy.

To help support this program, Bethany will receive the proceeds of WKZO’s Lori Moore’s 2010 Holiday Dish To Pass cookbook.  More information will be available later in the fall.

Women's Ministries

Bible Study Circles
The Bible Study Circles provide a time of Bible study, prayer and sharing for women. Circles meet in the morning, the afternoon or in the evening providing an opportunity for nearly every schedule. Contact
Info@bethany-kalamazoo.org for more information.

Prayer Ministry

Bethany's Prayer Chain
Bethany's Prayer Chain plays an important role in times of crisis. As urgent needs for prayer are made known, members of the Prayer Chain contact each member of the church allowing all of God's people to pray as one. The power of prayer is awesome!

Music Ministries

Adult Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir takes part in worship each Sunday and meets every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for rehearsal. Musical training is not required and everyone with a love for singing is invited to join. The ability to read music is helpful but not necessary. Contact Info@bethany-kalamazoo for more information.
